IF THERE’S A RISK, DON’T TAKE ANY CHANCES

Because there is an increased risk and the weather doesn’t help, do not conduct waste burning or extensive burns between 1 July and 30 September, nor outside of this period on the highest fire danger days.
You must ask for authorisation (application – fogos.icnf.pt/queimasqueimadas), under penalty of incurring a fine of up to €60,000. Do not light a fire, campfire or bonfire, or set off fireworks in the countryside. If you are working, always take your mobile phone with you and have a fire extinguisher nearby.
Finally, remember that the use of grass/weed trimmers, brush cutters and shredders is prohibited on the highest fire danger days.

In case of fire, call 112 and follow the authorities’ recommendations.
